Alan Cockrill is the first chief of the Batesville Police Department since 1980.
A native of Batesville, Chief Cockrill has a lengthy career in law enforcement, including service with the Independence County Sheriff’s Department, the Arkansas State Police and the 16th Judicial District Drug Task Force, which entailed working narcotics across five counties.
